Police make two more arrests after man charged following murder of Walthamstow teen Hussain Chaudhry
Police have arrested two more men in connection with the murder of Walthamstow teenager Hussain Chaudhry. An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder, while another man, also 18, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both men were arrested at an address in Bedfordshire today (March 21) and both remain in custody.
Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command launched an investigation after they were called to reports of a stabbing on Lea Bridge Road, near the junction with Grove Road. The incident took place at around 5.20pm on Wednesday, March 17. When they arrived officers and members of the London Ambulance Service found 18-year-old Hussain Chaudhry, who had suffered stab injuries.
A post-mortem examination, held on Thursday, found he died of hypovolemic shock and a stab wound to the neck. At the time of the incident, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s were also found with slash injuries to their hands. Both were relatives of the deceased.
They were taken to an east London Hospital for treatment and have since been discharged. The two arrests follow a previous arrest made by the Met Police, which led to a suspect being charged.
On Sunday detectives charged Marvin Ward, 18, of Westwod Road, Ilford, with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder, robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon. He will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 22.
